The Athens Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday at a new high for the year, as investors showed a greater appetite for buying and turnover rebounded.

The General Index closed at 2,653.53, a gain of 0.81%, the highest closing since November 11, 2009 (2,659.40). Intraday, it reached over 2,660 points. The index is up 25.12% in 2026.

Turnover reached €266.51 million on 37,757,331 traded shares.

Blue chips gained 0.89%, banks 0.92% and mid-caps ended unchanged.

Among blue chips, the biggest gainers were CrediaBank (3.32%), Allwyn (2.75%), PPC (2.70%), Optima Bank (2.54%) and Aktor (2.17%).
