The Athens Stock Exchange started the week with losses, but with the help of banks and other selected blue chips stayed above the 2,600 mark.
The General Index closed down 0.31%, at 2,606.95 points. Turnover was a relatively low €194.04 million.
Blue chips fell 0.26%, but banks gained 0.19%. Mid-caps gained 0.58%.
Bottler Coca-Cola HBC led blue chip losses, dropping 4.3%, followed by Cenergy (3.3%). Metals group ElvalHalcor, Athens water and sewage company EYDAP, Aegean Airlines and Optima Bank lost over 1%. Metals and energy group Metlen gained 2.3%, followed by Alpha Bank (1.06%), Athens International Airport (0.86%) and construction firm GEK Terna (0.72%).
Citigroup followed others in raising bank stocks’ target prices.
