The Athens Stock Exchange ended lower for a second session in a row Wednesday, dropping below 2,600 points.
The General Index dropped 0.90% to close at 2,593.57 points. Turnover was €244.79 million with 35,217,687 shares changing hands. Blue chips fell 1.03%, mid-caps 0.48% and banks 1.57%.
The biggest gainers among blue chips were refiners Motor Oil (2.99%) and Helleniq energy, reflecting the surge in oil prices. Power company PPC gained 0.82%.
The heaviest losses in the same category were recorded by Bank of Cyprus (3.69%), Alpha Bank (2.74%), Eurobank (1.90%) and Coca-Cola HBC (1.87%).
Overall, of 122 traded stocks, 32 gained and 63 declined, with 27 unchanged. The biggest turnover was Eurobank (€49.37 million) and Alpha Bank (€31.67 million).
