The Athens Stock Exchange ended Wednesday at its highest mark since late 2009, profiting from an improved mood in European markets due to lower oil prices and bond yields.

The General Index gained 1.26% to close at 2,687.04, its highest close since November 9, 2009. In 2026, the index has gained 26.7%.

Turnover reached €280.92 million on 33,619,070 shares traded.

Among 126 traded stocks, 61 gained, 44 declines and 21 ended unchanged.

Blue chips gained 1.29%, banks 1.58% and mid-caps 0.95%.
