Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul discussed financing Ukraine’s defense, strengthening air defense capabilities, and developing long-term mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
Ukrinform reported this, citing the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
Khmara thanked Germany for its strong and consistent support for Ukraine.
“The key issue is financing Ukraine’s defense. We are counting on Germany to continue playing a leading role in this area,” the defense minister noted. According to him, Germany’s assistance directly affects Ukraine’s ability to protect its troops on the battlefield and civilians in cities.
The sides also discussed strengthening Ukrainian air defense. Khmara emphasized that Germany is already working closely with its partners to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
