Acting Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara, during a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine, Heiko Thoms, discussed Ukraine’s needs in the war, particularly the need to expedite the supply of interceptor missiles to counter ballistic threats, as well as the prospects for long-term defense cooperation between the two countries.

According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Defense’s press service reported this on Facebook.

“We are committed to mutually beneficial defense cooperation with Germany. Germany is Ukraine’s largest security-assistance partner. At the same time, Ukraine has what all strong armies of the future need—real-world experience in modern warfare and technologies that help accomplish missions and save soldiers’ lives. We are ready to share this experience with our partners, not just for one year, but as part of a partnership that will last for decades to come,” Khmara noted.

He stated that during his meeting with the German ambassador, he discussed Ukraine’s needs and its actions in the war, including symmetric and asymmetric responses to the Russian aggressor. In particular, Ukraine is preparing new, strong responses to the enemy, which require speed and support from its partners.
