Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara and Chief of the Norwegian Armed Forces General Eirik Kristoffersen discussed strengthening air defense, countering Russian Shahed drones, and preparations for the Drone Deal.

During the meeting, Khmara briefed Kristoffersen on Ukraine’s key priorities and needs. Particular attention was paid to countering Shahed jet-powered drones, which pose a serious challenge to Ukrainian air defenses.
“Ukraine is developing countermeasures, but we need support from our partners to rapidly scale up these solutions. Assistance with interceptor missiles against Russian ballistic missiles also remains critical,” the minister emphasized.
Khmara stressed that Ukraine has achieved important strikes in recent days that are reducing Russia’s ability to produce and launch missiles. According to him, such measures are an important part of systematic pressure on Russia’s war machine.
