STASH: Khayelitsha bust
WESTERN Cape police made massive Mandrax busts on the Cape Flats over the weekend, with over 20 000 tablets seized in two separate incidents.
In a Khayelitsha raid on Monday morning, a 57-year-old female suspect was caught with 7 777 mandrax tablets and 1.6 kilograms of crystal meth at a home in Mandela Park.
Police spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala reported: “Members conducted an intelligence-driven operation at premises in Raymond Mhlaba Crescent on Monday, 24 August 2026, at about 3.30am. They found a 57-year-old female suspect and during the search, police recovered drugs worth R1.5 million.”
The suspect was arrested for dealing in drugs and will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court once she has been charged.
