Police dismantled a local gang's drug operation after several firearms, ammunition, and R10 million worth of drugs were seize in Bothasaig, Cape Town.
The operation took place on Sunday, July 19, at about 9.19 pm when officers attached to Crime Intelligence arrested a 29-year-old man at a premises in Sylvia Street, De Zicht in Richwood.
The provincial police spokesperson, Captain Frederick van Wyk, said the arrest follows information received that an apartment was being used as a storage facility by a local gang.
“Members conducted observation duties at the mentioned apartment and saw the suspect driving a white Mercedes-Benz. When he was about to leave the complex, the members boxed in the vehicle and instructed the suspect to exit the vehicle,” van Wyk said.
