Police confiscated guns at the Bothasig residence
Police confiscated drugs worth an estimated R10 million and eight firearms during a major intelligence-driven operation at af flat allegedly being used as a storage facility for a local gang in De Zicht, Richwood, near Bothasig.
A 29-year-old man was arrested after Crime Intelligence members acted on information about the flat and intercepted the suspect while he was leaving the residential complex in a white Mercedes-Benz.
During a search of the suspect, officers allegedly recovered an unlicensed 9mm pistol.
Police subsequently searched the flat, where they uncovered large quantities of drugs, including cocaine and ecstasy, with an estimated street value of approximately R10 million.
