BAGUIO CITY — An unidentified woman whose remains were recovered in the mountains of Abra last week was laid to rest on Wednesday, Aug. 12, after authorities failed to locate her relatives.

The Philippine Army’s 5th Infantry Division (5ID) said the remains, which were already in an advanced state of decomposition when found, underwent documentation and medico-legal procedures in coordination with the Philippine National Police and other concerned authorities.

With no family coming forward to claim the remains, authorities arranged for her burial, the Army said.
