TUGUEGARAO CITY — The mother of a newborn baby who was abandoned inside a bag in Sitio Khefa, Barangay Samoki, Bontoc, Mountain Province, on the evening of June 25 has come forward, the Bontoc local government announced on Saturday, June 27.
According to the municipal government, the mother, who was described as remorseful and emotional, is now receiving medical care at a government hospital together with her newborn. Both are also being provided assistance by local authorities.
“In line with the protection of her privacy and the welfare of both the mother and the child, we respectfully ask everyone to refrain from sharing or speculating about personal information related to the case,” the local government said in an advisory.
