Bulgaria will face another day of dangerous heat on Wednesday, August 12, with the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) issuing a yellow weather warning for high temperatures across the entire country.
The night will be mostly clear and calm, while Wednesday will bring sunny and hot weather nationwide. Cumulus clouds are expected to form over western parts of the country in the afternoon, but little or no rainfall is forecast.
Winds will generally be light, becoming moderate from the northeast in eastern Bulgaria. Daytime temperatures will reach between 33 and 38 degrees Celsius, with a high of around 34 degrees expected in Sofia.
Mountain areas will also remain mostly sunny. Cumulus clouds will develop over the mountains in western Bulgaria after midday, although significant precipitation is not expected. Winds will be moderate and occasionally strong from the northeast at the highest elevations. Temperatures will reach about 27 degrees at 1,200 meters and around 19 degrees at 2,000 meters.
Along the Black Sea coast, it will be sunny and hot, with light to moderate northeasterly winds. Maximum temperatures will range from 29 to 32 degrees, while seawater temperatures will be between 25 and 26 degrees. Wave heights will reach 2 to 3 points.
