A yellow weather warning for high temperatures has been issued for 22 regions of Bulgaria on Thursday, August 6, as the country braces for another day of intense summer heat. According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, daytime highs in the affected areas are expected to range between 35C and 37C.
The forecast calls for mostly sunny weather through the morning. Around midday and into the afternoon, cumulus clouds will begin developing over Western and Central Bulgaria, with isolated areas likely to see brief showers and thunderstorms. Winds will remain light across most of the country, while Eastern Bulgaria will experience a moderate east-northeasterly breeze.
Conditions along the Black Sea coast will remain predominantly sunny throughout the day. Moderate winds from the east-northeast are expected, with overnight temperatures staying above 20C and daytime highs reaching between 29C and 31C. Sea water temperatures will range from 24C to 25C, providing favorable conditions for beachgoers despite the persistent heat.
Mountain areas will also start the day under sunny skies before clouds build during the afternoon. Some locations are expected to experience short-lived rain showers and thunderstorms. Moderate northeasterly winds will prevail in the higher elevations, where temperatures are forecast to reach around 25C at 1,200 meters and about 17C at 2,000 meters.
