MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is closely monitoring the impact of the southwest monsoon or “habagat”, particularly in flood-prone areas and the rising water levels in dams and reservoirs, Palace press officer Claire Castro said on Sunday.
Marcos has also directed concerned agencies to remain on heightened alert, closely coordinate on water releases, and take the necessary preventive measures to protect communities and critical infrastructure.
