MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau on Tuesday afternoon warned of possible heavy rainfall, flooding, and other hazards to life and property in Metro Manila on Thursday and Friday due to the enhanced southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

In separate impact-based advisories issued at 3 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that “[a]s local impacts may vary from location to location, the public and local authorities are advised to take all necessary measures to mitigate the impacts of heavy rainfall and flooding in your respective localities.”
