MANILA, Philippines – The southwest monsoon or habagat and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring rain showers to parts of the country on Saturday, according to the state weather bureau.

In the 5 a.m. update, of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), weather specialist Veronica Torres said that the southwest monsoon will affect parts of Luzon and the Visayas while the ITCZ will prevail over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.

“The southwest monsoon is expected to trigger rains in Metro Manila, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan,” Torres said in Filipino.FEATURED STORIES
