The week-long series of awareness and outreach activities organised in connection with World Breastfeeding Week 2026 concluded at the Institute of Social Paediatrics of the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital (SMCH) on Friday.According to a press release, the celebrations featured a range of programmes, including a human chain and rally, awareness campaigns, counselling sessions for breastfeeding mothers, cultural programmes, and extensive community outreach. Nearly 1,000 students from various city colleges participated in awareness activities conducted outside SMCH.The valedictory ceremony included a video presentation highlighting the week’s activities and certificate distribution to 130 anganwadi workers from seven zones, 50 nursing students, and 30 undergraduate students for their participation.
