Over 150 persons participated in an awareness rally conducted by Maa Kauvery Hospital as part of a programme to observe World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7) in Tiruchi on Saturday.The global initiative creates awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and promotes a supportive environment for breastfeeding mothers.The theme for this year is “Breastfeeding: A Sustainable Foundation for Life; Strengthen Systems that Support Breastfeeding.”Held in collaboration with Rotary Club of Tiruchi Metro, Inner Wheel Club of Tiruchi Metro, and the local chapters of National Neonatology Forum, and the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, the rally was flagged off at the District Collector’s office by R. Balaji, District Revenue Officer. It concluded on the Maa Kauvery Hospital premises in Cantonment.The event was led by K. Senthil Kumar, senior neonatologist, Maa Kauvery Hospital. P.
