German authorities have arrested a 31-year-old man wanted in Greece under a European arrest warrant on suspicion of three homicides and one attempted homicide, following cooperation and an exchange of information with Greece’s Organized Crime Division.

The suspect is allegedly a member of a criminal organization dismantled in March 2025 that was involved in the production and distribution of large quantities of contraband tobacco products in Athens, Thessaloniki and other parts of Greece.

Greek authorities said the man was wanted in connection with the killing of a man in Athens’ Neos Kosmos district on January 14, 2024, as well as for alleged involvement in a criminal group linked to two other homicides, explosions and arson attacks.

He also faces charges in a separate case involving the abduction of a prison officer.

The suspect is expected to be extradited to Greece in the coming period, authorities said.
