MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has granted the request of former Negros Oriental Rep. Jing Paras’ counsel to reset his appearance to Aug. 11 but denied the appeal for copies of records related to allegations that he and Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste were involved in a “honey trap” for Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.
Paras and Leviste are scheduled to appear before the NBI on Thursday, Aug. 6, as per their subpoenas.

In a letter addressed to Paras’ counsel, Atty. Mark Tolentino, the NBI said the former lawmaker is expected to appear at 2 p.m. on Aug. 11, noting that this resetting is “final” and “no further postponement will be entertained absent compelling cause.”
