MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will subpoena Batangas First District Rep. Leandro Leviste and former Rep. Jing Paras over an affidavit of a nabbed talent manager, stating that they supposedly planned to frame Executive Secretary Ralph Recto in a “bugaw,” or human trafficking, modus operandi.

In an interview on Friday, NBI Director Melvin Matibag said the subpoenas against Leviste and Paras are expected to be issued this Friday.

He added that they are expected to appear before the bureau on Wednesday or Thursday next week.
