MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is looking into whether other government officials, who may be targeted in a “honeytrap” scheme, are connected to a supposed plot to frame Executive Secretary Ralph Recto using a human trafficking modus operandi.

NBI Director Melvin Matibag gave this information on Monday.

This follows his earlier statement that an arrested talent manager had alleged that Batangas First District Rep. Leandro Leviste and former Negros Oriental Rep. Jacinto “Jing” Paras were allegedly involved in a plan to have four females release fabricated statements.

The women were supposed to allegedly claim that Recto had forced them to use illegal drugs and have sex with him.
