Duncan Hoorn denies assaulting his wife, Chantel Pasqualle-Hoorn, during his testimony in the ongoing murder trial, as the State prosecutor challenges his account of the events leading to her death.
Duncan Hoorn took the witness stand on Monday and denied causing the death of his wife, Chantel Pasqualle-Hoorn, before facing an intense cross-examination from State prosecutor Advocate Renée Uys.
The Western Cape High Court, currently sitting in the Wynberg Regional Court, heard Hoorn maintain that he and his wife argued after he allegedly discovered her with another man at a Cape Town guesthouse, but that he never physically assaulted her.
Hoorn has pleaded not guilty to kidnapping, murder and defeating the administration of justice.
Led by his defence advocate, Gilbert Jose, Hoorn told the court Chantel phoned him on June 27, 2024, and asked him to fetch her in Cape Town.
