Exactly two years after Chantel Pasqualle-Hoorn succumbed to the injuries she sustained during an alleged assault, her family will once again return to court as the murder trial of her husband, Duncan Hoorn, enters its final stages.
The Western Cape High Court, currently sitting in the Wynberg Regional Court, is expected to hear evidence from the State's second-last witness on Monday as prosecutors move closer to closing their case. The State is expected to conclude its evidence by Wednesday before the defence decides whether it will call witnesses.
Hoorn has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping, murder, and defeating the administration of justice.
Today marks exactly two years since Pasqualle-Hoorn was declared dead after spending a month in a coma at Groote Schuur Hospital following the events of June 27 and 28, 2024.
