MANILA, Philippines – “Trabaho lang kami. With or without the survey, nakita ninyo kami sa Kongreso. Nakita ninyo kaming tahimik na nagtatrabaho. Ginagawa po namin ang aming mga responsibilidad, at nakikita po namin ang aming mga priorities na dapat naming isulong sa bawat Kongreso.”

(We’re just focused on our work. With or without the survey, you’ve seen us in Congress. You’ve seen us quietly doing our jobs. We are carrying out our responsibilities, and we know the priorities that we need to advance in every Congress.)

This according to Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III, who on Friday said the House of Representatives remains focused on fulfilling its constitutional mandate and crafting responsive legislation, stressing that its work is guided not by survey ratings but by the needs and sentiments of the Filipino people.

Speaking during a press briefing following the launch of LegisHear in Isabela, Dy expressed gratitude for the public’s continued trust in the House, but said the institution’s priority has always been to earn that trust through consistent work and meaningful reforms.
