MANILA, Philippines — First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Tuesday was moved to tears while listening to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address (Sona), saying the speech reflected the challenges and sacrifices their family has faced during his presidency.
In a Facebook post, the first lady said she became emotional when the President declared: “We are respectful, and we are dignified. We are Filipinos, and we do not yield.”
“I felt the weight of every challenge, every sacrifice and every prayer that brought us to this moment,” she wrote.
