MANILA, Philippines – The absence of any mention of Vice President Sara Duterte’s ongoing impeachment trial in President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) drew mixed reactions from the prosecution team.
The televised speech, watched by millions of Filipinos, was formally addressed to Congress, where one chamber impeached Vice President Sara Duterte for a second time in May and the other will decide whether she should be convicted or acquitted.
