Russian forces have launched 57 attacks on Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions since the beginning of the day, with the heaviest fighting taking place in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in an operational update published on Facebook as of 16:00 on Monday, July 27, according to Ukrinform.
"Since the beginning of the day, the aggressor has attacked the positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces 57 times," the statement said.
According to the General Staff, Russian artillery continues to shell border areas. On Monday, the settlements of Potapivka, Tovstodubove, Korenok, Sopych, Fotovyzh, Rohizne, Hirky, Bachivsk, Bezsalivka, Volfyne, Topolia, and Brusky in the Sumy region came under fire.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out 37 strikes on populated areas and Ukrainian positions, including two attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems.
