Sinovuyo Dyokwe, 48, a Dunoon community activist and ward candidate, was shot and killed.
Police have arrested the alleged mastermind behind the murder of DA candidate councillor Sinovuyo Miranda Dyokwe, who was gunned down in June in Dunoon.
Police said it was due to the diligent investigation by Western Cape Serious Violent Crime Investigation (SVCI) detectives that led them to arresting the alleged mastermind behind her killing.
Cops say a 37-year-old suspect was nabbed during a joint intelligence-driven operation in Parklands on Saturday, and he had allegedly been evading arrest.
Police said it was revealed that the motive behind the murder was allegedly linked to extortion and that Dyokwe was forced to pay protection money and that she had been threatened.
