In a statement issued on Thursday, the global human rights organisation said Salihu has remained in DSS custody since 2023 despite repeated efforts by his family and lawyers to gain access to him.

Global human rights body, the Amnesty International, has accused Nigeria's Department of State Services (DSS) of violating the rule of law by allegedly detaining an engineer, Engr. Tahiru Mohammed Salihu, for more than three years without trial, demanding that he be immediately released or charged before a competent court.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the global human rights organisation said Salihu has remained in DSS custody since 2023 despite repeated efforts by his family and lawyers to gain access to him.

"Amnesty International is calling on the Department of State Services (DSS) to immediately release or charge to court Engr. Tahiru Mohammed Salihu who has been in custody of the DSS since 2023," the organisation said.
