The family of a 28-year-old Kano resident, Ibrahim Yakubu Ogirima, has accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of detaining him for several months without granting him access to his relatives or legal representatives.

They alleged that at about 1am, armed men and women wearing masks stormed the house, forcibly gained entry and restrained Ibrahim, his elderly mother and his wife, who had delivered a baby less than 48 hours earlier.
The family said the newborn child was at the time receiving treatment in an intensive care unit.
