Police in Athens say they have dismantled a criminal gang accused of carrying out 24 burglaries and thefts at homes across Attica, stealing cash and valuables worth more than €865,000.
Six suspects, aged between 21 and 41, have been charged with forming and participating in a criminal organization and committing aggravated theft between January and March 2025.
According to police, the group operated from a base in Ano Liosia, western Athens, using rented vehicles to scout potential targets. Armed with burglary tools, they allegedly forced entry through front or balcony doors, stealing cash and jewelry. Investigators said the gang often targeted several homes in a single night.
The burglaries took place in Gerakas, Glyfada, Glyka Nera, Kifisia, Koropi, Melissia, Nea Penteli, Paiania, Pallini, Varkiza, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Vrilissia.\
Police said the suspects were already known to authorities for similar offenses.
