Two men, aged 36 and 24, have been arrested and detained in connection with a series of high-value home burglaries in central Thessaloniki, police said, with investigators linking them to a wider criminal network active for several months.
According to police, the suspects are believed to be part of an organized group operating since at least December 2025, along with a 39-year-old and other accomplices, targeting residences across the city center.
A case file has been formed on charges including participation in a criminal organization and multiple thefts. Authorities estimate the group’s total stolen goods exceed €531,360 in valuables, along with more than €54,000 in cash, following at least eight confirmed burglaries.
The 36-year-old was arrested early Thursday after allegedly breaking into an apartment and stealing jewelry, silver items and coins valued at approximately €55,000. The 24-year-old was also arrested, accused of acting as a lookout during the break-in.
Police said the group maintained a consistent strategy, including forcing entry through security locks, monitoring homes to confirm occupants were absent, and positioning lookouts outside targeted properties.
