Police on Monday carried out a large-scale operation in eastern Attica targeting members of an alleged criminal organization accused of stealing vehicles, authorities said.
The operation was led by the Spata-Artemida Crime Investigation Unit, with support from the OPKE special police forces, as officers executed arrest warrants issued in connection with the case.
Investigators allege the group had been active for an extended period, stealing vehicles as part of a coordinated criminal scheme. A case file compiled by the same investigative unit formed the basis for the warrants.
So far, 13 individuals have been arrested, police said. Further updates are expected.
