Two residents of Qorveh who were arrested during last year’s January protests have been sentenced by Islamic Republic courts to a combined total of six years in prison, four years of exile, and 62 lashes.
According to a report by Kolbarnews, Neda Dedehjani and Setayesh (Behnoush) Sarabi were each sentenced by Islamic Republic courts to three years in prison, 31 lashes, and two years of exile in Nikshahr, Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
Branch 102 of the Qorveh Criminal Court sentenced each of the two citizens to one year in prison, 31 lashes, and two years of exile in Nikshahr on the charge of “disturbing public peace and order.”
Additionally, Branch 1 of the Qorveh Revolutionary Court sentenced Neda Dedehjani and Setayesh Sarabi to two years in prison each on charges of “assembly and collusion to commit crimes against internal security.”
Under the final ruling, each woman faces three years in prison, 31 lashes, and two years of exile, with two years of the prison sentence being enforceable in each case. State security forces arrested Neda Dedehjani and Setayesh Sarabi during the nationwide protests in January last year.
