U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.3% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.2%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 declined 0.3% in morning trading. HIAB rose 9% and Randstad climbed 6.6%. On the other hand, DSV sunk 7.8%, and Prosus slipped 3.8%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were flat as France's CAC 40 was flat and Germany's DAX held steady.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index dropped 0.1% to 97.22.

In commodities, Brent crude gained 2.5% to $93.31 a barrel, and WTI crude rose 2.6% to $86.54 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was up 1.7% to 60.7 euros a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield climbed by 1 basis point to 3.201% from 3.19%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury climbed by 1 basis point to 4.637% from 4.629%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
