An unplanned power outage affected several villages along the South Coast Feeder early Tuesday morning after a power pole in Aufaga caught on fire.
The outage occurred early Tuesday morning between 5 am and 6 am, disrupting electricity supply to several villages along the South Coast, including Lepa, Lealatele, Saleapaga, Matatufu and Lalomanu, among others.
EPC said the fire damaged a power pole in Aufaga, and repair crews were dispatched to restore power.
The corporation later confirmed that power had been restored to all affected areas on the South Coast Feeder within about two hours, except for a section in Aufaga where the damaged power pole remained isolated to allow crews to safely continue repair works.
Furthermore, a section of Alamagoto has been isolated as EPC is carrying out urgent repairs on a faulty transformer pole.
