An unexpected power outage has struck parts of the country, leaving many areas without electricity as the Electrical Power Corporation (EPC) works to restore supply.

On Monday at 11 am, power supply was cut in parts of Samoa as an unexpected outage disrupted electricity supply.

The Electrical Power Corporation (EPC) said the unplanned outage is currently affecting Alaoa South and surrounding areas, with crews already on the ground carrying out restoration work.

The cause for the disruption has not been revealed, but EPC said that efforts were underway to restore supply as quickly as possible.

Areas impacted include Papauta, Vaoala, Tiapapata, Afiamalu, and others.
