The Electric Power Corporation Samoa(EPC) has announced a planned power outage for several villages in western Upolu on Saturday, July 18, to allow maintenance work that will be carried out in Afega.

The outage will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will affect Malie, Afega, Tuana'i, Leauvaa, Alamutu, Salepouae, Fatitu, Utuali'i, Tufulele, Nonoa, Lotosoa, and Faleasiu.

EPC said the maintenance work is needed to support the realignment associated with the bridge that is currently under construction.

The work includes upgrading high-voltage poles from 12 meters to 14 meters, relocating a transformer pole, and clearing trees along the power line.

Residents in the affected areas will experience a temporary interruption to their electricity supply while the work is carried out.
