LUCENA CITY – Authorities in Imus City, Cavite, advised residents to take safety precautions after the locality recorded heat index levels in the “extreme caution” category on Thursday.
In a public advisory posted on Facebook, the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) recorded a heat index of 41.5°C at 2 p.m.
The DRRMO warned that prolonged exposure to extreme heat may lead to heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
