LUCENA CITY – The local governments of Taytay, Rizal, and Imus City, Cavite, urged their residents to take precautionary measures after the two localities recorded “dangerous” heat index levels on Monday.

In an advisory posted on its official Facebook page, the Taytay Public Information Office (PIO) said the town’s heat index reached 44.32°C as of 10:14 a.m.

The advisory warned that prolonged exposure to extreme heat could cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke, prompting authorities to advise residents to exercise extra caution.
