District Collector Anand Mohan inspected a few ongoing development projects in Tirunelveli Taluk and received petitions from the public on Wednesday under the ‘Ungaludan ungal ooril’ initiative.While visiting the urban health centre at Thatchanallur, the Collector checked medicine stocks and the quality of treatment and inspected the 1.50 Km-long road development works being taken-up along the Nainarkulam in Tirunelveli Town at the cost of ₹3.90 crore.When Mr. Anand Mohan inspected the sewage pumping station at Nainarkulam, where the pumping capacity is being increased from 4 million litres a day to 15 MLD to pump the sewage getting collected in Tirunelveli Town area to Ramaiyanpatti garbage yard, he expressed displeasure over the delay. “It should be completed within next two months,” the Collector ordered the Corporation officials as this project is being implemented by the urban civic body since 2018.After visiting the e-seva centre at Tirunelveli Taluk office, the Collector went to the Pettai Sub-Registrar’s Office and the Suththamalli Agriculture Cooperative Society, where Mr. Anand Mohan instructed the officials to maintain transparency and proper accounting in their functioning. He also interacted with the public and the farmers in the Sub-Registrar Office and the cooperative society.After visiting the Suththamalli Government Higher Secondary School, where he had brief interaction with the students and the teachers, the Collector inspected the Aavin milk procurement centre at Kallur receiving 5,000 litres of milk everyday from the dairy farmers.At Kandigaiperi Government Hospital, which serves patients from western Tirunelveli and Alangulam area of Tenkasi district, Mr. Anand Mohan checked the medicine stocks, patients’ records and visited different departments of the hospital.In Tenkasi district, District Collector Ranjeet Singh inspected the ongoing development works in Kadayanallur taluk and visited the Office of Special Tahsildar (Land Acquisition) for the Rajapalayam – Shencottai Highway.After disbursing welfare measures to the public at Puliyangudi, the Collector inspected the municipality’s commercial complex at Puliyangudi bus-stand and the ‘Amma Unavagam’ where he tasted the quality of food being served there.
