The Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes, listened to public grievances and inspected government offices in Pandalur taluk in The Nilgiris as part of the Ungalai Thedi, Ungal Ooril scheme on Wednesday (July 15).The Nilgiris district administration said the Collector visited the villages of Nelliyalam, Cherangode and Erumad and interacted with residents. She then visited the Government Panchayat Union Primary School in Cherangode, where Ms. Tanneeru reviewed the implementation of the Chief Minister’s breakfast scheme, checked the quality of food being served at the school and checked the food stock register.Subsequently, she inspected the Government Primary Health Centre at Cherambadi, reviewed the available basic facilities, medical services provided to the public and medicine stocks. She also inspected the construction of an additional hospital building being built at ₹43 lakh and instructed officials to expedite the work so that it could soon be opened for public use, said a press release from the district administration.The Collector then visited the Cherangode Panchayat Office, where she reviewed departmental activities and maintenance of records. She also inspected the Cherangode Fair Price Shop, verifying the quality, stock and weight of essential commodities. She then inspected houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Scheme, each costing ₹5.73 lakh, interacted with the beneficiaries and enquired about their needs.
