Pudukkottai District Collector M. Aruna on Tuesday reviewed various government facilities at Thirumayam block as part of the ‘Ungalai Thedi, Ungal Ooril’ initiative.Ms. Aruna inspected the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme at Chidambaram Chettiar Memorial Higher Secondary School and assessed the quality of food served to students. She also verified attendance records maintained under the scheme.She later inspected a newly constructed sub-health centre at Kottur, built at a cost of ₹45 lakh under the 15th Finance Commission grant. At the Primary Health Centre in Nachandupatti, she interacted with pregnant women undergoing treatment, enquired about the availability of medical services and medicines, and reviewed the overall functioning and cleanliness of the facility.As part of the initiative, senior officials from various departments carried out inspections at government offices, schools, hospitals, anganwadi centres, hostels, orphanages and public infrastructure facilities, including drinking water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, roads and street lighting.Later, Ms. Aruna chaired a review meeting with officials at Thirumayam. During the meeting, officials submitted reports on their field inspections and details of public grievances received during their visits. She instructed officials to upload all public petitions received during the inspections to the Chief Minister’s grievance portal without delay and provide time-bound redressal to the public.
