Acting Provincial Police Commissioner for the Western Cape, Major General Luyanda Damoyi, visited the house where the mass shooting took place on Sunday.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the mass shooting in Malmesbury, where 10 people, including a one-year-old child, were shot over the weekend. He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

During the attack, two people were killed and eight others were seriously injured when unknown gunmen stormed a house in Wesbank in the early hours of Sunday, July 12.

The one-year-old toddler was shot in the face.

Western Cape police spokesperson Colonel André Traut confirmed the arrest.
