Mayor Olivia Chow is vowing not to let Saturday’s shooting at a crowded Toronto festival stop the city from hosting popular street parties.

In a video posted to social media Monday morning, Chow acknowledged the city suffered a “difficult” weekend, with three incidents of gun violence that left three people dead. Two were killed at Salsa on St. Clair, a celebration of Latin culture held every year in the Corso Italia-Davenport neighbourhood. Four more people were injured at the event.
