The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has sent its heartfelt condolences following the tragic passing of Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams. PSL Chairman Irvin Khoza stated that his untimely passing has deeply rocked the football fraternity, cutting short a meteoric rise that left lasting memories.

Khoza joined mourners in paying tribute to Adams after the 25-year-old midfielder was found dead on Saturday morning at a premise in Military Road in Cape Town.

His club, Mamelodi Sundowns, confirmed the devastating news as tributes continue to pour in from across the globe, including from South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Fifa President Gianni Infantino. Adams had recently represented Bafana Bafana during their historic Fifa World Cup campaign in North America.

At just 25 years of age, Adams was yet to reach his ultimate peak in club and international football. Khoza described his death as completely unexpected, bringing a sudden end to one of the most promising careers in the modern South African game.
