News of Adams' passing initially circulated on social media before his club, Mamelodi Sundowns, officially confirmed the devastating loss later in the day.
The Cape Town Central police station also confirmed to media outlets, including IOL, that an inquest investigation has been opened after the body of a 25-year-old male was discovered at a premises on Military Road in Schotschekloof, Cape Town.
