Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have launched 79 attacks on the positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces. The heaviest fighting is taking place on the Kostiantynivka and Sloviansk fronts, while Russian troops are also maintaining heightened activity in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released the operational update as of 16:00 on Thursday, July 9.
Russian forces continue to shell Ukraine's border areas with artillery. Today, the settlements of Volfyne, Sopych, Bachivsk, Korenok, Ryzhivka, Yastrubshchyna, Ulanove, Hirky, and Potapivka in Sumy region, as well as Buchky in Chernihiv region, came under fire.
Russian aircraft also carried out an airstrike on Vilna Sloboda.
